Getting Started

Do I need a partner to take classes?

No! We rotate partners during class, so you'll learn to dance with many different people. This actually makes you a better social dancer because you learn to adapt to different partners. Most of our students come solo, and many have found great friends (and even romantic partners) through our community.

I have two left feet. Can I still learn?

Absolutely! We specialize in teaching complete beginners. There's no such thing as "two left feet" - just untapped potential. Our structured curriculum breaks down each skill into manageable steps, and our patient instructors have helped hundreds of self-proclaimed "non-dancers" become confident social dancers.

I'm nervous about being judged. Is that normal?

Completely normal! Everyone feels this way at first. Our community is incredibly supportive - we've all been beginners. You'll find encouragement, not judgment. Many of our students say they were surprised by how welcoming and fun their first class was.

What age groups do you teach?

We specialize in adult instruction. Our students range from their 20s to 70s. Latin dance is truly for everyone regardless of age! Some of our most enthusiastic learners started dancing in their 50s and 60s.

Classes & Programs

What's the difference between salsa and bachata?

Salsa is faster-paced with quick footwork, energetic spins, and playful energy. Bachata is slower, more sensual, with hip movements and closer partner connection. Both are incredibly fun! We teach both styles in our programs so you become a well-rounded Latin dancer.

How long until I can dance socially?

Most students feel comfortable at social dances after completing Foundations 1 (8 weeks). You'll have enough basics to enjoy dancing at our 603 Social events and other Latin dance venues. Of course, dance is a lifelong journey - there's always more to learn!

What program should I start with?

If you're a complete beginner, start with Foundations 1. If you have some experience, book a free assessment and we'll help determine the best placement. We also offer a 4-Week Salsa Experience if you want to try us out before committing to a full program.

Do you offer private lessons?

Yes! Private lessons are available for accelerated learning, wedding first dance preparation, or working on specific goals. We offer single sessions and package deals. Visit our private lessons page for pricing.

Practical Details

What should I wear to class?

Comfortable clothing you can move in. For shoes, dance shoes are ideal but dress shoes or clean sneakers with smooth soles work too. Avoid flip-flops, very grippy athletic shoes, or anything that might damage the floor.

How much do classes cost?

Our Foundations programs are $175/month or $325 for the full 8-week program (saves $25). Progression and Elevate are $195/month. We also offer a 4-Week Salsa Experience for $99 if you want to try us out. All programs include access to our student community.

Where is the studio located?

We're at 859 Hanover Street, Manchester, NH 03104. Easy to access from surrounding cities like Nashua, Bedford, Londonderry, Concord, and more. Free parking available.

What if I miss a class?

We understand life happens! Contact us and we'll work with you on makeup options. Our goal is to help you succeed, so we're flexible when possible.

About Bella Vita

Who teaches the classes?

Classes are led by Rose Gibney, owner and lead instructor. Rose is a 2025 World Salsa Summit Champion with 5+ years of teaching experience. She specializes in making dance accessible and enjoyable for adults of all backgrounds.

What makes Bella Vita different from other dance studios?

We specialize exclusively in Latin partner dancing for adults. Our structured curriculum, World Champion instruction, and supportive community set us apart. We focus on creating confident social dancers, not just teaching moves.

Do you teach kids or other dance styles?

We specialize in adult Latin dance instruction (salsa and bachata). This focus allows us to create the best possible learning environment for adults. For children's classes or other dance styles, we'd recommend checking out other studios in the area.
